Sustainable solutions and responsibility are central elements when PJ Nordic selects products, and our approach to sustainable solutions and resource awareness is reflected in every part of our business.

We always strive, based on our professional product knowledge, to select only the products that best meet the requirements set for functionality and sustainability.

PJ Nordic follows the principles of the UN Global Compact, which among other things involves:

RSPO certification ensures that palm oil production on certified plantations takes place in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, and that no primary forest is cleared when new plantations are established. These measures mean that the original forest in the areas is not felled, thereby preserving the original wildlife and fauna.

The production of palm oil yields two types of oil – the oil from the fruit pulp, which is the actual reason oil palms are cultivated, and the oil extracted from the fruit's kernel. Kernel oil is not generally suitable as food, and for the past 30 years many efforts have therefore been made to find applications for it.

Among other things, it replaces paraffins in soap and shampoo and carrier substances in agricultural pesticides, and, as one of the more recent applications, as a substitute for petrochemical lamp oil.

All PJ Nordic products that use palm oil are RSPO-certified, and our entire consumption of palm oil is covered by RSPO Credits.
